Pros and cons of Mondo Top 5 Solitaire app for iPhone and iPad

Mondo Top 5 Solitaire app good for

edisoncarter, what you stated is not correct. The same options that are available in Mondo Solitaire are also available in Mondo Top 5 Solitaire -- including the variants of Klondike that youre looking for. Just tap on a game, and whether youre in CoverFlow view or List view, youll see the options available to you for the game (scroll down to see more options).
I waited to buy a card-game app, because I wanted to get one app (instead of multiple apps), and I wanted to have at least klondike and freecell in that app. And, well, I didnt want to spend much. The full Mondo solitaire game is way more than I want, but this trimmed-down version had the games I wanted. (it happens that Golf would have been my third favorite game, so really this had all that I wanted). So far Ive played a few games, and I like the way the games work. There are a few nice time-saving features, and includes instructions and some options for each game. Also has an undo/redo feature. Minor nitpick: I wish there was a preference as to which way the game is displayed. Id like to play Freecell with the headphone cable coming out the left-side, but the way the cards are shown I have to play it with the cable coming out the right side. I cant compare this to any of the other card-game apps available for the iphone, but offhand Id say that this seems to do everything Id want it to do. Im sure Ill think of something over time. Its probably closer to a 4.5 than a 5.0 for a rating, but Id say its easily more than a 4.0.
I found the controls very intuitive, the interface quite clean, and all with only a couple quirks here and there. For those looking for a quick, cheap game of solitaire, what you get here, especially for the price, cant be beaten.
Easy to read the cards, and I like the paperclip/magnifier idea to select more than one. However, the implementation of tap-to-move is too smart, it automatically makes each move without confirmation - takes the fun out of searching for the destination yourself. With drag & drop, I find my finger gets tired after too much dragging across the glass. If I could, Id give it a 3.5.
Ive had several solitaire games. This one is my favorite and the only one that I have kept on all of my iPhones. Well well done. Smooth graphics sounds can get a bit old tho.
Ive tried a few solitaire games for the iPhone, and this is the last one Ill need. Great!

Some bad moments

(v1.0.2) I am a big fan of Ambrosias Mac software, so I wanted to like this game. However, the control scheme isnt very intuitive, and left me feeling detached from the game, an observer rather than a player. I also ran into a serious bug where the in-game control screen was rotated counter to the game and partly off-screen, leaving some of the controls inaccessible, but Im sure that one will be fixed eventually. Game play hints seem to appear only once, at intervals when youre trying to play. I suggest Sol Free, which has a better (but still not great) control scheme.
This offers the 5 top games, but not all the OPTIONS of the top 5 games. For example, it offers Klondike, but only the turn-3 version. The more expensive versions Klondike offers an option of turn-3 or turn-1.
Sorry, but this one needs more time in the oven. Spider is broken - its difficult or impossible to drag stacks to the final pile, and if/when they are all gone, the game just sits there and doesnt finish. A little more intelligence would be nice also - double-tapping a complete K-A stack should take it out, not move it to an open row! Id also like to see other some default double-tap decisions to streamline the play, like automatically moving to the like suit when there are two options. I can always undo in the rare case that isnt what I want. Hold off on this until its updated from 1.0.2.
Cant win at spider as K-A moves to empty not discard. Play out doesnt work at all. Please fix!
Finished a game of Freecell and was left with a 3 of clubs, meaning there was five 3 cards in the deck, making the game impossible to win.
Spider is unusable and there are several bugs in settings; has yet to be updated in the three months Ive had it. Could be the best in appstore if not for laisse faire attitude towards bugs
